Fellowship available at the University of Milan (Dept of Biosciences)
The labs of Lucio Conti (Dbs) and Gabriella Consonni (Disaa) are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic scientist to functionally explore the role of gene networks implicated in the vegetative to reproductive phase change of maize.
The position is funded through the AGRITECH - National Research Centre for Agricultural Technologies program and aims at establishing a maize transformation protocol and at the same time implementing gene-editing techniques to improve crop resilience in the context of climate change.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record in plant research and preferably prior experience on in vitro culture/plant regeneration. The ability to optimize, improve and repurpose protocols, as well as excellent communication and teamworking skills are essential.
The position is funded for 1 year and it is expected to begin on April/May, 2024.
For any information, please contact Lucio Conti (Lucio.Conti@unimi.it) and Gabriella Consonni (Gabriella.Consonni@unimi.it).
