Posizione di assegnista presso l'Università degli Studi di Padova
A selection announcement will be published for an award research grant for the research project entitled “Regulation of gene expression in grapevine: analysis of genetic and epigenetic determinants”, to be conducted at the Department of Agronomy, Food, Natural Resources Animals and Environment – DAFNAE – University of Padova (Italy), under the supervision of Dr Alessandro Vannozzi, who is the associated investigator of the project, responsible for the University of Padova unit.
The research grant will last 12 months with the possibility of an extension to 24 months (starting date: February-March 2021). The gross amount for the grant holder will be of approximately 20000 euro per year and the involved Scientific Sectors are plant genetics, molecular biology and biotechnology.
The purpose of the research grant is to analyze in depth the grapevine genome to search for putative regulatory regions and cis-regulatory variants with a range of wet lab and bioinformatics approaches that will use biochemical, evolutionary and genetic data to look at both genetic and epigenetic factors involved in gene regulation. In detail, research activities will be focused on the setting of DAPseq and ampDAPseq protocols in grapevine in order to identify and analyze the grapevine cistrome (the totality of cis-elements) related to several important transcription factors families.
Required skills: PhD related to plant biology, molecular biology, biotechnology and genomics fields.
Additional skills: the fellow holder should have developed specific skills including nucleic acid and chromatin extraction, construction of NGS libraries, Chip-seq, basic proteomics skills (in vitro protein synthesis, western blot etc.). Moreover, skills in bioinformatics and experience in grapevine fields would be appreciated.
