Postdoctoral fellowship on plant functional genomics, Center of Genomic Sciences, National University of Mexico

The group of Prof. Georgina Hernández head of the Research Program of Functional Genomics of Eukaryotes from the Center of Genomic Sciences (CCG) - National University of Mexico (UNAM) located in Cuernavaca, Mexico (70 kms south of Mexico city) is seeking candidates for a Postdoctoral fellowship in functional genomics of legume plants. The fellowship will start on March, 2019. It is awarded for one year with possible renewal for a second year (only). Applicants must be young scientists who have obtained their PhD degree maximum 5 years (after March 1st, 2014) before starting the postdoctoral stay at UNAM. The postdoctoral fellow will develop a research project about the functional characterization of common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris) microRNAs that regulate the rhizobia N-fixing symbiosis. The postdoctoral fellowship includes the equivalent to ca. $2,000 US Dlls per month, medical insurance, air tickets to/from Mexico. In addition CCG offers FREE housing for post-docs in the Visiting Professors Residence, located in campus few meters from the labs. A studio including private bath, kitchenette and utilities (gas, electricity, water, laundry free of charge) is offered to each postdoc.
